The girls’ parents alleged that in their absence, the son and nephew of the contractor came to their house, forcibly made the girls drink alcohol and raped them.

“They also allegedly filmed the act and took objectionable pictures of the two girls with their mobile phone cameras. In their complaint, the parents of the girls said that their daughters confirmed it,” said the senior police officer.

The same night, around 11 pm, the two families confronted the contractor and his son and nephew. As the family members fought, the two girls allegedly left home and hanged themselves with their dupattas from a tree, located 50 metres from their homes.

“The families came to know about the suicide around 1 am when they did not find the two girls at home. The parents have not alleged any foul play behind the death of the girls,” said Chander.
