The police on Tuesday arrested a 17-year-old boy for allegedly attempting to rape a 4-year-old girl in Thakurganj area of Lucknow.

According to the police,the girl’s father lodged a complaint with the police on Tuesday alleging that the boy who lives in his locality had lured his daughter to a secluded place on Monday evening and attempted to rape her.

Police arrested the boy who works in a factory after lodging an FIR. Thakurganj station officer Shashikant Yadav said the medical test of the girl has been conducted and the report is awaited.

The girl’s father works as an embroider and lives in Habib Nagar locality.
