Woman S-I alleges molestation by senior cop

A woman sub-inspector of police has alleged that she was molested by the officer-in-charge of Ballygunge police station in the metropolis here.

The woman S-I posted at the Ballygunge police station filed a complaint with the senior authorities,accusing the officer-in-charge,Ujjal Mukherjee,of making sexual advances and molesting her on Thursday night after calling her to his room,police sources said.

The woman SI filed a complaint with the deputy commissioner’s office following which a high-level inquiry under the supervision of a DC was instituted.

Mukherjee went on leave on Friday,the sources said.

This is the second such incident in the last one month after a woman police official was allegedly molested by a colleague.
