WB bus operators warned not to go ahead with strike

Mitra said,they (bus operators) are saying it was not profitable for them to run buses.

West Bengal bus operators who have called a two-day strike from September 19 were Saturday warned by transport minister Madan Mitra not to go ahead with it and were asked to surrender their permits if services were not profitable for them.

“They (bus operators) are saying it was not profitable for them to run buses. If that is so then let them surrender their permits which will be given to new applicants,” Mitra added.

Bomb in auto explodes,one dead

A passenger travelling in an auto-rickshaw was killed and its driver injured when a country-made bomb kept in a suitcase exploded in South-24 Parganas district Saturday,police said.
