Local Trinamool leader Abu Taher Sardar also blamed the CPM supporters aided by anti-social elements behind the attack.
CPM has, however, denied any role in the incident. CPM district secretary Sujan Chakraborty instead blamed it on the infighting among local Trinamool leaders.
