One thing that didnt miss anyones notice during the platinum jubilee celebration of the state Assembly was the absence of former chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee. It was not as if the Left had boycotted the event. Left Front stalwarts like former Speaker Hasim Abdul Halim were present at the function. According to CPM sources,Bhattacharjee didnt go as he was not invited at all. Its up to the Speaker now to explain why the former CM was not invited on such an occasion.
