This may be the season of mishtis of various hues and shapes, but are the swisher cousins to be left behind? Of course not, this is why confectioners around the town are going all out to woo desperate brothers (who don’t have the time or the imagination to surprise their sisters with novel gifts) with a bouquet of goodies. The grand dame of confectioneries,Kookie Jar,has an offering which you can possibly say not to. A try of an assortment of their sumptuous cookies come for Rs 350. Then of course there gift hampers of chocolate too which are priced at a modest Rs 390. But if you really want to impress your sister, you could walk in with a packet of their celebrated dark chocolate cake which is priced around Rs 400 for a pound.

At Mama Mia Gelato,Bhai Phonta has ensured brisk sales around the clock. “We are selling the gift trays in bulk,” smiles Natasha Agarwal Roy of Mama Mia. A tray of assorted chocolates will cost you Rs 200,while a cookie tray (small) will cost you Rs 200. That apart Mama Mia is offering you the option to pack a hamper of your favourite mudpie and miniature mousse for as little as Rs 300. “We have hampers of mini muffins too,” adds Natasha.

Cakes has the usual gift hampers but our advice will be to head straight for their double truffle cake which comes for Rs 350 for a pound. And we also assure you that it’s best to not expect any kind of sisterly affection when it comes to sharing the cake. Chocolates do strange things to women.
