SUVRANSHU SARDAR, a student of Narendrapur Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya in South 24 Parganas, on Wednesday stood first in the Higher Secondary examination, scoring 496 out of 500 marks, or 99.2 per cent, as the results were announced on Wednesday. Speaking to mediapersons, Sardar said he was expecting to score good marks but bagging the first rank was something that he never expected.
“I thank all my teachers and my parents for this result. The strict discipline at RKM Narendrapur had a lot to do with my results. My message to every student will be to study for four-five hours minimum, daily. There is no need to study for eight-nine hours if you cannot concentrate for that long,” he said.
Sardar, who loves to read and was the lead singer of the school band, said he would pursue economics in higher studies.

My parents helped me a lot in my studies. When I am not studying, I sing and read books. My dream is to become an IAS officer,” she said.

I did not take any tuition and it was my hard work at home which gave me this result. I would like to thank my parents and all my school teachers who guided me throughout the year and because of them I secured these marks today. I want to become an IPS officer.”
The third rank was shared by four students – Chandrabindu Maity, Anusuya Saha, Piyali Das and Shreya Mullick.
