The investigating officer probing into several cases filed in connection with property dispute of 9A Short Street,the premises that witnessed two killings on November 11,was Thursday transferred out of Shakespeare Saran police station and a departmental inquiry initiated against him.
Sub-inspector Noor Ali faces departmental inquiry after investigations into the shootout at 9A Short Street revealed that he did not act despite several complaints being lodged at the police station in connection with the property dispute. The property dispute turned bloody Monday when the head mistress of a play school,and her two guards,gunned down two men who had entered the premises along with 19 others to take possession of the plot.
Headmistress Mamta Agarwal,who was arrested the same day,told the court during a hearing that she had lodged at least two dozen complaint with the police station regarding the property dispute but IO Noor Ali did not investigate into any.
A preliminary inquiry into the matter found that Agarwal had lodged three FIRs and 20 general diaries,but Ali had not initiated investigations in any of the cases.
Meanwhile,a departmental inquiry against other senior officials of the police station has also been ordered. It has been learnt that Commissioner of Police,Surajet Kar Purakayastha,has directed the divisional deputy commissioner to submit the inquiry report soon.
Meanwhile,Pinakesh Dutta,a realtor,was today been remanded in four days police custody. Dutta was arrested Thursday. He is accused of organising the takeover bid along with the directors of Heartline Estates Pvt Ltd,a Mumbai-based firm. Police say Dutta had recently developed connections with the Heartline directors,who claimed to have bought the 9A Short Street property from Sailabala Sen,the daughter-in-law of the original owner.
