The West Bengal Human Rights Commission on Tuesday took the suo moto cognizance of the incident and asked the local police administration to submit a report on the recent spate of violence and crime against women in the area. A senior human rights official said,The commission has asked the IG (South Bengal) to submit a report within four weeks on the recent spate of violence in the area and on the incident of a doctor being hacked to death for protesting against molestation in the area.
