Queen Victoria’s piano back on display after 20 years

Director-general of National Library Swapan Chakravorty,who is also the curator of the Victoria Memorial Hall,said,“We are happy that this rare object is back,giving visitors a chance to have a glimpse of it. However,every museum in the world has objects that are not on display. Even the Indian Museum has many rare objects which they can’t put on display due to lack of space.”

The piano,which came as a gift to the memorial named after the queen from King Edward VII in 1905,has been kept in a glass case in the Queen’s Hall with the eastern quadrangle courtyard in the backdrop.
