Accepting the results of the West Bengal civic polls as a setback, the CPI today said the Left Front should make a proper assessment of the situation ahead of next year’s Assembly elections. Party National Secretary D Raja said the Left Front,of which CPI is a part, should “introspect” and take all necessary steps before the 2011 polls. “It is a setback. These are elections to local bodies. There can be a combination of various factors. At the time of Assembly elections, there will be larger political issues,” he said. “The Left Front should take stock of the situation and decide on the way forward,” he added.
