The Union Home Ministry today discussed the issue of territorial boundary of the proposed Darjeeling Regional Authority and took note of the revised proposal given by Gorkha Janamukti Morcha, which is spearheading the campaign for a separate Gorkhaland.
The meeting among the GJM,West Bengal government and the Home Ministry discussed the list of areas given by the GJM to be included in the proposed autonomous body.
However,no decision has been taken on it and another round of meeting will be held next month to discuss the issue further.
We hope something positive will come out in the next round of meeting, an official said.
The GJM has also asked for adequate and uninterrupted funds for the proposed authority so that development activities could be carried out without any hindrance.
The political-level tripartite meeting on the Gorkhaland issue will be held in May.
