Netai villagers identified 6 accused: CBI

While identifying the six accused,the relatives of the Netai victims said they had come from outside to run the camp in the village,De said. During the hearing,it was revealed the CBI had already identified all the armed goons hired by the local CPM leader at Lalgarh and the agency was trying to nab all the hired goons. The hired goons who fired on the villagers were not the CPM men,he said. The CBI is reported to have identified also the person who used to bring things like food at the camp.

Hearing the argument,the Division Bench of Chief Justice Jaynarayan Patel and Justice Ashim Kumar Roy wanted to know about the CBI’s preparations to file chargesheet in 90 days. The Division Bench also suggested the agency can file the supplementary chargesheet later.

The Bench asked the CBI to bring its case diary on the probe during the next hearing on April 5. It also directed the agency to file a status report on the progress of the investigation in the next hearing.

In a separate development,the ACJM court,Jhargram remanded the six accused who have been identified in the CBI custody till March 26. The court said the identification parade for the other two would have to be conducted before March 22.
