Model murder: Boyfriend sent to police custody

Saitrayan Sinha,who was arrested on Tuesday night on charges of abetting the suicide of model Sanchaita Sarkar (24),has been sent to three-day police custody by the Alipore court on Wednesday.

Sinha,a resident of Mukundupur,was arrested after the relatives of Sarkar lodged a complaint with the Lake police station late last evening. Sarkar’s body was found hanging from the ceiling of her Jodhpur Garden flat on Monday.

“No case of abetment to suicide has been established yet. We are searching through her diaries,notebooks,letters to obtain clues,” said an officer. Initial investigations have revealed that Sarkar was living with Sinha,who was married to another woman and seeking a divorce.
