Govt should stop interfering: CPM

THE CPM on Tuesday accused the Trinamool government of interfering into the matters of the state election commission,and asked it to allow the panel to hold the panchayat elections on time. Alleging that the state government did not want the panchayat elections to be held on time,he said,“The state is accusing the Opposition and others of trying to delay the panchayat polls. Actually,the state government itself doesn’t want the panchayat polls to be held in time.”

Congress MP and Minister of State for Railways Adhir Chowdhury too blamed the Trinamool government for the delay in holding of the panchayat elections. “The state government is afraid of a humiliating loss because its credibility has touched rock bottom. Which is why it is trying to delay it,” he said.
