Four suffer burn injuries as fire engulfs bakery

Four persons were injured,two of them seriously,in a fire that destroyed a bakery operating from Mauli Jagran in Manimajra in the wee hours of Monday morning.

Four persons were injured,two of them seriously,in a fire that destroyed a bakery operating from Mauli Jagran in Manimajra in the wee hours of Monday morning. The fire is believed to have started due to a short circuit,but the exact cause of fire is yet to be ascertained.

All the injured were workers at the bakery and were reported to be sleeping when the fire broke out. They have been identified as Iqbal,Shahbuddin,Jubair and Fakiruddin. Iqbal and Jubair received serious burn injuries and were admitted to PGIMER,while the two other injured were admitted to GMCH-16. There condition is reported to be critical.

All the injured were sleeping on the first floor of the building which had the bakery on the ground floor. The fire completely destroyed the beds and the machinery in the bakery.

The fire is believed to have started around 2.30 am and completely destroyed the bakery. The fire department got a call regarding the fire at 2.50 am and rushed three fire tenders,one each from Manimajra,Industrial Area and Sector 17 fire stations. By the time the fire tenders reached the spot,the fire had completely engulfed the whole building.
