Eastern Railway won the women’s title,while Kolkata Port Trust clinched the men’s crown in the 29th Senior State Basketball Championships that concluded at the West Bengal Basketball Association courts on Monday.

Riding on Renuka Thomas’ super show,Eastern Railway beat West Bengal Police 46-38 in the final and won the championship for the fifth year on the trot.

The men’s final was a nail-biting affair. Port eventually prevailed over Eastern Railway Sports Association 47-46. Port captain Suhas Bhattacharya was the top scorer of the match with 19 points.
