ECI pulls up Kalyan

The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Wednesday censured Trinamool Congress candidate Kalyan Bandopadhyay contesting the Serampore seat for his derogatory remarks against Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee.

“We have received the feed back from the Election Commission. The commission has stated that the reply sent to the EC by Bandopadhyay is not satisfactory. It is a case of violation of model code of conduct. The EC has reprimanded him for his comments,” said Debashish Sen,Chief Electoral Officer.

Bandopadhyay has refused to comment on the issue saying he is yet to receive the order from the ECI.
