Charity Outing

The charity circuit is back in action with the Delhi-based NGO Khushii rolling out a red carpet extravaganza with a fashion show in Ashoka hotel on September 15. However,this time,the marquee of names on the roster got bigger. Amongst the glamorous Ayesha Thapars and Bina Ramanis,there are a few rookie names who will take a shy turn on the ramp — the likes of art curator Ina Puri,publicist Dilip Cherian and entrepreneur peter Punj,who would wear and,hopefully,buy the creations by 52 designers who will showcase their lines. But despite these names,the lady to watch out for is undoubtedly actor Sushmita Sen,who will be the star attraction at the event. “We have got more designers and people to walk the runway and I am simply floored by the response,” smiled designer Leena Singh,member of the governing body of the NGO,over lunch at the the Emporio Mall. Designer Nitin Bal Chauhan who was also present at the announcement lunch,said,

“It’s a great concept and there is a huge attendance for such dos”. “Events like these are good at attracting big names,” agreed designer Anjana Bhargava. Some of the few participating designers include Gaurav Gupta,Malini Ramani,Ashish Soni,Rajesh Pratap Singh,Ritu Beri,Tarun Tahiliani and Aparna Norden. Spotted during the announcement lunch was former cricketer Atul Wasan along with designer Manoviraj Khosla,jewellery designer Alpana Gujral and socialite Bina Ramani.
