Chargesheet filed in Kamduni rape

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) submitted the chargesheet in the Kamduni gangrape and murder case today at the Barasat court.The chargesheet has been filed without the forensic report.

“The chargesheet has been filed against six of the offenders — Ansar Ali,Imanul Ali,Sayiful Ali,Gopal Naskar,Bholanath Naskar and Bhutto Mollah. By the end of next week,we will file the chargesheet against the other three — Noor Ali,Amin Ali and Md Rafique — too,after the forensic report arrives,” said Sivaji Ghosh,ADG CID.

As many as 54 witnesses have been named in the 150-page chargesheet submitted,on Saturday,21 days after the incident.

The sections under which the accused have been booked include 376A,376D,302,201 and 120B of the IPC. Two of the accused have already recorded their statement before the magistrate.

Leader of the Opposition,Suryakanta Mishra said the chargesheet has been submitted in a hurry. “It has been done in a hurry and the forensic report has been purposely not included so that the accused can get bail,” he said.
