While the Bahujan Samaj Party candidate in West Delhi,Deepak Bhardwaj,made headlines by being the richest candidate in the country,most of the BSP candidates who have filed their nominations till now in West Bengal seem to be worth much less. Topping the list is Ganesh Ray,the Bankura candidate,who has zero assets,zero cash and zero liability to show.
Following him is Manik Bauri,the candidate from Bishnupur,who has Rs 2,000 in cash and one bigha of land. Similarly,Purulia candidate Asit Baran Mahato has only a TVS Star City scooter worth Rs 43,000.
In another instance,BSP candidate from Jhargram Panchanan Hansda has Rs 1,60000 worth of agricultural and non-agricultural land,a bank account in SBI and Rs 5,300 cash and a 12 gram ring. With Rs 9,034 cash,bank deposits,post office savings and Rs 2,20,000 worth non-agricultural land and residential property worth Rs 2,00,000,BSP candidate Narayan Chandra Samat from Ghatal too has low networth.
Bikash Biswas of Malda North has gold worth Rs 11,7000,Rs 20,000 cash and land and buildings worth Rs 11 lakh. Elias Narjinary of Alipurduar has total assets worth Rs 1,55,7000 while Santi Kumar Sarkar of Jalpaiguri has Rs 1,199,207. Akhil Ranjan Mondal from Raiganj tops the charts with total assets Rs 7,150,000.
