Interlocutor for Gorkhaland talks to visit city this weekend
Vijay Madan,who has been appointed as the interlocutor in the talks between the state government and the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha is coming to Kolkata on November 29. The next day he will have talks with senior officials of the state government including chief secretary Ashok Mohan Chakrabarti and home secretary Ardhendu Sen. On December 1,he will have talks with Governor Gopalkrishna Gandhi. The tripartite talks between the Centre,GJM and the state government will be held on December 21 in Darjeeling.

Media offcial held
The Detective Department of Kolkata police arrested a senior official of a media house on Friday evening. A senior official of the Detective Department said there are several charges of cheating against him. He will be produced in the court on Saturday.

Sonarpur book fair kicks off
The Sonarpur book-fair which kicked off on Friday would project the Purulia district through its performing arts,handicrafts,heritage,seminars,exhibitions and felicitation of eminent personalities from the district. There would be almost 100 book stalls in the main arena.

Traditional dances and folklore would be performed by Purulia artists. Eminent people like poet Nirendranath Chakraborty,footballer P K Banerjee will attend the inaugural ceremony.
