‘BJP leaders visit temples for political gain’

BJP LEADERS visit temples for political purposes, are not even aware of our icons and make false claims about them, senior TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee said on Friday. Banerjee was addressing a gathering in Katwa of Burdwan on Friday, during his ‘Jan Sanjog Yatra.

He said, “BJP leaders, including its president J P Nadda, visited the Radha Gobind Temple on January 9, 2021. The BJP chief’s visit was, however, quite different from mine as he was here solely for political gain. BJP leaders aren’t even aware of basic information such as where and when our icons are born. They keep repeating wrong information, without due diligence.”

He said, “I couldn’t offer my prayers at the Radha Gobind Temple earlier. However, this time, I was determined to visit to offer prayers and seek the blessings for the people of Bengal. I will try and gather more knowledge about our temples the next time I visit Katwa.”
