With a dime-a-dozen night clubs popping up across the city in the past few months,Jynxxx,the latest night club at the hotel Intercontinental,Eros,Nehru Place,has tried heard to make itself seen and heard.

With a dime-a-dozen night clubs popping up across the city in the past few months,Jynxxx,the latest night club at the hotel Intercontinental,Eros,Nehru Place,has tried heard to make itself seen and heard. Its main entrance opens up to a tunnel-like-passageway lined with LED lights,reminiscent of settings in the Star Wars. A brief walk leads to a massively spacious dance floor,but thats where you come across the initial bummer. The garish interiors with furniture done up in silver upholstery is a bit of a put-off; the VIP section that is partitioned from the dance floor by rows of hanging beads,comes with bed-lounges- a set of five faux leather beds in silver with cushions and a table stand a concept quite out of place in a night club. One can lounge comfortably in these beds for the evening, says Mohit Jain,the proprietor.

Jynxxx is situated on the ground floor of the hotel,with an exclusive entrance. Formerly housing Athena and Floats,this 12,000 sq ft area has held strong significance in Delhis partying bible. Two VIP sections define the luxury bracket at the club. The smaller section houses five tables,where the price of admission is a minimum table spend of Rs 30,000 for a total of four persons. A strategically placed centerpiece contains a selection of Moet and Chandon,Dom Perignon,Cavali Vodka,Crystal champagne. The larger section is the bed-lounge area where the price for admission is a minimum spend of Rs 25,000 per couple. The menu a staple fare of Indian and Chinese is uploaded on an Apple Ipad. There are six such ipads that go around the VIP sections.

The dance floor,which can accommodate up to 500 people,is interactive and fun. The touch sensitive floor panels change colours with the rhythm of the music and are synchronised with the 11-foot equaliser screen below the DJ console. Combined with the low-mood lighting and the video graphics on the LCD panels across the walls,Jynxxx is serious about accentuating the dance experience. The music includes a mix of house,techno,R and B,and commercial music on different theme nights,with impressive acoustics.

With a Rs 2,000 per couple cover charge on weekdays,(Rs 3,000 on weekends) patrons are handed smart cards at entry,which can be topped up through the night. If you are looking for dinner options,a Rs 800 each buffet offers a good variety.
