A flood-like situation has arisen in some areas of Dooars region of Jalpaiguri district after two places in the embankments on Ghis river were breached by rising river water.

Missing girls rescued,architect held

Darjeeling: Two teenage girls aged 17,who were missing from Lodhoma in Darjeeling district since September 5,were rescued from the house of an architect near Siliguri on Friday night. One of the girls had informed her friend over phone that they were being held captive in the house of architect Pravin Mukhia near Siliguri. After the police was informed,they raided the house and Mukhia was arrested.
