Tapasi Singha,an agent of Saradha Group,attempted to commit suicide in Suti in Murshidabad on Tuesday. Singha (28) tried to commit suicide by consuming sleeping pills. She had a liability of Rs 5,30,000,said police sources. Tapasi and her husband Nandan Singha were agents of Saradha Realty.
Congress protests
Kolkata: Congress workers in South 24-Parganas organised a law violation programme in front of the District Magistrates office on Tuesday afternoon leading to the arrest of 568 people. Hundreds of Congress supporters gathered at Belvedre Road protesting against the Trinamool government for being soft on chit fund companies. Why the state did not wake up earlier is the question. We want a thorough inquiry into this scam and also into all the allegations about the involvement of the TMC top shots in the fraud, said state Congress chief Pradeep Bhattacharya. Similar protests were held by party across the state.
