A court in Rajasthan’s Kotputli-Behror district has sentenced Congress MLA Ved Prakash Solanki to one year imprisonment in a cheque bounce case, said the advocate of the complainant in the case.
MLA Solanki, a supporter of Congress leader Sachin Pilot, said he will appeal against the verdict and that he had secured bail.
The court of additional chief judicial magistrate-3 Nikhil Singh also imposed a fine of Rs 55 lakh on the Chaksu MLA, of which Rs 54 lakh will be given to aggrieved Mohar Singh Yadav, advocate Bhupendra Kumar Prajapat, who represented Yadav in the case, said Wednesday.
“Back in 2015, Mohar Singh Yadav had given Rs. 35 lakh to Ved Prakash Solanki for buying a plot. But he didn’t give him the plot and instead gave the complainant a cheque of Rs 35 lakh, which bounced. Thereafter, Mohar Singh went to the court,” said Prajapat.
“I will appeal against the verdict. I don’t know any Mohar Singh Yadav and I have already registered a case of cheating against him for misusing the cheque. I’ve secured bail,” Solanki told The Indian Express on Wednesday.
