The six BSP MLAs are Deepchand, Sandeep Kumar, Joginder Singh Awana, Wajib Ali, Rajendra Singh Gudha and Lakhan Singh. Following the state polls last year, BSP supremo Mayawati had pledged support to the Congress.
The portion on demonetisation was introduced by the previous BJP state government in the political science book of Class 12 in 2017. The textbook had termed the central government’s decision to demonetise notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 as “historic” and an “operation to clean black money”.
The Cabinet also decided to reopen two universities, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Law University and Haridev Joshi University of Journalism and Mass Communication, both of which were opened during Ashok Gehlot’s previous term as chief minister but were closed when the BJP came to power.
Besides Gehlot and Pilot, 13 cabinet and 10 council of ministers, who had taken oath on Monday during the cabinet expansion, were allocated portfolios, according to the orders issued by cabinet secretariat.
Asked if infighting could hamper the Congress' chance in the assembly polls, he said, "I should make it very clear on the record that there is no infighting that the opposition and the media try to project."
