Man arrested for filing RTI query based on forged documents

Telangana CID has arrested a man for forging documents and submitting an application under the Right to Information to the Governor’s office here on their basis. The accused forged documents, one of them purportedly a Government of India Gazette notification issued by Union Ministry of Home Affairs showing a person as a member of Rajya Sabha.

He also forged three other documents, purportedly issued by the Governor’s office and related to nominated posts. On the basis of these documents, an RTI application about implementation of certain `orders’ was submitted to the Governor’s office.

On a complaint from Governor’s office, case was registered and Maramraju Raghava Rao was arrested yesterday, CID said in a release.
