In the hot seat
If talk from the sets of Jugaad is to be believed,it would seem that Manoj Bajpai has an alternative career in the film industry — film direction. The actor, who plays a common man caught up in a maze of red-tape while trying to get his work done, had many creative inputs during the making of the film. The director R Anand Kumar says,“There were lot of creative differences and I think it is very natural. It happens all the time with experienced artistes. Many times,Manoj did not agree with the way a scene was executed. Jugaad has a lot of creativity from Manoj. I believe that one day he will make a very good director.” But Manoj very modestly counters this and says,“I am not into direction at all. When one has done so much of cinema and theatre, observing a scene and noticing any weak point comes naturally. I am happy that my advice was useful for the film.”

If looks could kill
Shahid Kapur will be seen in a never-before-seen avatar in Vishal Bharadwaj’s Kaminay. Shahid,it seems,is taking a break from his boy-next-door image,as projected in Vivah,Jab We Met and Kismet Konnection, and will play a hard-hitting and raw character in the latest flick. It seems that Shahid’s fans are going completely berserk over his transformation and have started a Facebook community called Kaminey Community where they exchange news and information about Shahid and his movie. They have asked Shahid to become a part of this community and he has obliged his fans. That’s why we like Shahid — he’s ever ready to oblige his crazy fans.

Papa’s boy
Being the son of a renowned music director like Bappi Lahiri has its pressures. It’s the same with Bappa Lahiri whose tryst with music began when he was three. Now,at 25,he has evolved into a full-fledged music director with Shyam Bajaj’s Jai Veeru. Bappa give breaks to fresh talent and dish out some ultra-melodious fare.

His Sufi melody Tere Pyar Mein has already hit the top of the popularity charts. We hope Bappa has his father’s ability to churn out hit after hit — but we could do without theinfamous ‘inspirations’.
