Two men arrested after video of stunts with Fortuner near Amity University goes viral

(Photo/@noidapolice)Hours after a video showing two young men speeding and performing stunts in a Toyota Fortuner near Amity University in Noida went viral, they were arrested and the car was seized, police said on Wednesday.
According to the police, the two men were performing dangerous stunts in the SUV, bearing an Uttar Pradesh registration number, near Gate Number 1 of the university in Noida Sector 125. A video of the incident went viral on Tuesday.
“We learnt that the public was facing inconvenience in commuting,” said Sumit Shukla, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Noida. Shukla said the stunts had also led to traffic congestion in the area, after which the two men were identified and taken into police custody.
“They have been identified as Diwakar Sharma, 19, and Sanjay Kumar Singh, 20, both residents of Noida,” said the ADCP.

Shukla also said the police had seized the Fortuner. “We took cognisance of the viral video and identified both the men from the video, and later arrested the two. They were students and violating traffic norms. We are investigating the case further,” he said.
In the 18-second video, a white Fortuner can be seen speeding on the roads and later being splashed with alcohol all over.
