Two Delhi traders, who had been kidnapped for ransom from Patna, were rescued from Kajra in Lakhisarai district. Police said that the Ranjit Mandal gang was behind the crime. Although five persons have been arrested, the kingpin in the case is still absconding. Police said the family of the traders, who are brothers, got a call demanding Rs 4 crore as ransom.

Kapil Sharma and Suresh Sharma, son of Babulal Sharma, had been invited by Ranjit Mandal to get a marble tender worth Rs 12 crore. They were allegedly kidnapped by Ranjit and his associates soon after their arrival at the Patna airport at around 6.20 pm Friday. The brothers, according to police, were taken to Lakhisarai and one of the two traders was allowed to make a call to their father, Babulal Sharma, who came to Patna and lodged FIR with Airport police station Sunday. But there was no mention of ransom demand in the FIR.
