Nearly two months after a 44-year-old businessman was found dead at his residence in Kirti Nagar,West Delhi, police have arrested two men for the offence.

Police said the main accused, who was in a relationship with the victim, had allegedly murdered him for his money. “Kamal Kishore (19) and Pradeep (21),both residents of Hardoi in Uttar Pradesh, were arrested for robbing and murdering 44-year-old Narender Narang,” said Additional Commissioner of police (West) V Renganathan.

Police said Narang,a dhoti dealer, was divorced in 1994. He used to reside on the ground floor of a building in Kirti Nagar, and his brother lived on the floor above him. Investigations revealed that the two were not on talking terms. On August 29,police received a PCR call, reporting a foul smell from Narang’s residence. A team rushed to the spot and found his decomposed body,a clutch cable tied around his neck.

After interrogating about 500 persons, police learnt that Narang had met Kamal Kishore about a year ago. “The two became friends and entered into a relationship about three to four months ago,” said Renganathan.

It was during this time that Kishore learnt of Narang’s business, and the fact that he used to earn anywhere between Rs 50,000 and Rs 1 lakh in a day. Following this,he asked his friend Pradeep to help him commit the crime, police said.

Kishore and Pradeep allegedly made off with Rs 50,000 and three mobile phones.
