Two persons including a 7-year-old boy were killed and two others injured when the motorbike they were riding on was hit by a truck near Punjabi Bagh on Sunday night,police said.
Ashok (50) and Tanish (7) were killed on the spot in the mishap,while Manoj (28) and Prateek (3) suffered injuries. Manoj has fractures on both his legs and Prateek sustained injuries on his head and left eye.
Ashok left his residence last night at 10.30 pm along with his son Manoj and two children of his immediate neighbour Sanjeev for Rani Bagh to meet his newly born grand daughter .
Manoj,who was riding the motorbike,said,I was trying to take a turn when a speeding truck came and hit the bike from behind. The headlights of the truck were not switched on and before I could apply brake the truck hit us and dragged the bike along. My father and our neighbours kid died on the spot.
The truck driver fled from the accident spot and police are trying to trace him.
In the two other mishaps,an 18-year-old was killed while his friend injured when their motorcycle was hit by a speeding tempo in Alipur area in Outer Delhi. Mohsin was killed while his friend Sandeep was injured in the incident that occurred around 9.30 pm on Sunday
On Monday morning,three persons returning from a wedding were killed when a mini truck rammed into their motorcycle at Dipali Chowk in Outer Delhi. Police have arrested the mini truck driver.
