1993: Suhaib Ilyasi marries his classmate from Jamia Mass Communication course, Anju, in London
January 10, 2000: Anju Ilyasi, wife of ‘India’s Most Wanted’ anchor and producer Suhaib Ilyasi, found dead at their East Delhi residence with multiple stab wounds
March 2000: Anju’s sister Rashmi alleges that Ilyasi tortured Anju for dowry, drove her to suicide
March 28, 2000: Ilyasi arrested after sisters-in-law and mother-in-law file police complaint alleging dowry harassment and murder. FIR registered for dowry death and cruelty under sections 498A and 304B IPC
October 3, 2002: Chargesheet filed against Suhaib Ilyasi for dowry death
March 30, 2003: Trial court frames charges under Section 498A and 304 against Ilyasi
May 16, 2003: Trial begins
February 2004: Anju’s mother Rukma Singh files application before trial court to add murder charge against Ilyasi. Application is rejected
August, 2010: Singh again files plea to add murder charge

December 2011: Home dept orders a new medical board to look into Anju’s injuries
May 16, 2012: Delhi HC issues notice on Singh’s pleas to add murder charge
January 7, 2013: HC stays order for a fresh medical board after Ilyasi challenges the order
March 14, 2013: HC stays trial court proceedings on Singh’s plea
August 12, 2014: HC dismisses Ilyasi’s objection to the fresh medical board and allows Singh’s plea to add murder charge
