Three Afghan women held for snatching

A 60-year-old woman,her daughter and daughter-in-law,all hailing from Afghanistan,were arrested for allegedly stealing wallets and other articles on Monday.

The accused,identified as Laziba (60),Belgis,her daughter (24) and Rohana(40),her daughter in law,had come to India on February 15.

Police said the women often walked around busy market places on the pretext of seeking help in shopping and bargaining. While Rohana and Belgis engaged the unsuspecting person in a conversation,Laziba used to pull out the wallet and other articles from the victims bags. The trio were caught red-handed from Janpath Market.

Police recovered two smart phones,jewellery and Rs 48,000 cash from the arrested.
