Maliwal has alleged that Kumar slapped her seven-eight times, “kicked on the chest, stomach and pelvis area”, and threatened that she would be killed. With the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) set to march to the Bharatiya Janata Party’s headquarters in Delhi to protest against the arrest of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s aide Bibhav Kumar in an assault case, Swati Maliwal Sunday hit out at the party, saying it was out on the street to “save the accused”.
“There was a time when we all came out on the streets to get justice for Nirbhaya. Today, after 12 years, we are out on the streets to save the accused who made the CCTV footage disappear and formatted the phone?” she wrote in a post on X.
“I wish we had made as much on an effort for Manish Sisodia ji. If he had been here, maybe this wouldn’t have happened to me!” she added.

Maliwal has alleged that Kumar slapped her seven-eight times, “kicked on the chest, stomach and pelvis area”, and threatened that she would be killed. She said the incident occurred on May 13 when she had gone to meet Kejriwal at his official residence. AAP, meanwhile, has denied the allegations, claiming that Maliwal is being “blackmailed” by the BJP to become part of their “conspiracy”.
On Saturday, Bibhav Kumar was arrested by the Delhi Police after being booked under Sections 354 (assault or use of criminal force on woman with intent to disrobe), 506 (criminal intimidation), 509 (word, gesture, or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman), and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt)of the Indian Penal Code.
Bibhav was produced before the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Gaurav Goyal in the Tis Hazari court complex late in the evening. He was sent to five-day police custody.
