(File Photo)A Delhi court on Friday, for the second time, denied bail to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s aide Bibhav Kumar who was arrested in May for allegedly assaulting AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal.
“…considering the fact that Bibhav Kumar is alleged to have misbehaved with a lady member of the political party at the official residence of the Hon’ble CM, where not only the elected members of their political party could meet the Hon’ble CM but even the general public could go and meet the Hon’ble CM regarding their grievances. This creates fear and panic in the mind of the general public to meet their leader,” noted Special Judge Ekta Gauba Mann of Tis Hazari Court, denying him bail.
The Judge said that there was fear in the mind of the victim regarding her family’s security as she had been receiving threats continuously. It was also held that Kumar could influence the witnesses if granted bail. Kumar is now in judicial custody.
