St Anne’s,AVM go through on penalties

The girls gave it their all,tried their best,but the quarterfinal contests in the under-16 category failed to produce a single field goal at the Castrol-Mumbai Schools Sports Centre ground in Azad Maidan on Monday.

The girls gave it their all,tried their best,but the quarterfinal contests in the under-16 category failed to produce a single field goal at the Castrol-Mumbai Schools Sports Centre (MSSA) ground in Azad Maidan on Monday. And with all three contests going into tie-breakers,St Anne’s from Fort,Borivali’s Mary Immaculate Girls and AVM from Bandra were the teams advancing into the semifinals.

Niharika Jahapkar,Sneha Ekka and Rachele Lobo all converted their penalties in St Anne’s 3-2 win over Lilavati Podar from Santacruz. Aishwarya Karkera and Olana Noronha were the penalty-scorers for Mary Immaculate in their win over NSS Hill Spring from Tardeo,while Anushree Arora,Krisha Mansukhaney and Simran Shah were on target for AVM against J B Petit.

Meanwhile,in the boys’ under-16 Division IV playoff league,Ryan International from Goregaon overcame their fellow school outfit from Malad by a 3-2 margin. Abhishek Jadhav was the hero,scoring a hat-trick while Tushar Sawant and Atul Thakur scored for Ryan International from Malad.
