Sing for Superman

You may have all the comics from all the universes of DC,but no DC Comics junkie’s collection is complete without a compilation of the music from the company’s rich musical history.

You may have all the comics from all the universes of DC,but no DC Comics junkie’s collection is complete without a compilation of the music from the company’s rich musical history.

The Music of DC Comics: The 75th Anniversary Collection (in the picture) celebrates the best of DC soundtracks, from John William’s cult theme for the 1978 movie Superman,to the super-cheesy theme song from the Batman TV series, composed by Neal Hefti in 1966. More recent material is also included, such as the theme created by Robert J Kral for 2009’s animated film,Green Lantern First Flight.

The album will be released by Sony Music and will be available in India from June 14.

However, certain key compositions have been omitted: for instance, the theme song for the TV series,The Adventures of

Superman, has not been included, and neither has the music from Christopher Nolan’s two Batman movies — Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. We can only hope that DC will release a second CD featuring all the missing music.
