In June last year, Sachin Bishnoi had also claimed responsibility for the murder of Moosewala. (Sourced) One of the main conspirators in Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala’s murder case, gangster Sachin Bishnoi alias Thapan, has been extradited to India from Azerbaijan by the Delhi Police.
According to the police, a team of the Special Cell reached Azerbaijan Saturday and brought back Bishnoi, who is the nephew of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, to Delhi.
They said Bishnoi was detained by the local authorities in Azerbaijan a few days ago for using a fake passport. According to police sources, Sachin had fled a month before Moosewala was killed last year to escape authorities and evade arrest. He first flew to Dubai on a fake passport and then travelled to other countries, they added.
The police said they will question Sachin in connection with the alleged planning and execution of the Moosewala murder.

“Several Indian security agencies have been trying to extradite him for the past year. This will be very crucial in the Sidhu Moosewala murder case and the gang activities spread across the nation. His interrogation will reveal the planning by the gang to murder Moose Wala,” said an officer.
According to the police, Anmol Bishnoi, the younger brother of Lawrence Bishnoi, had also fled around the same time as Sachin. He was detained in Kenya last year but was later seen partying with Punjabi singers Karan Aujla and Sharry Mann in the United States this year.
Moosewala was shot dead in Mansa, Punjab on May 29 last year. Gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar have been named as the main perpetrators of the crime as they allegedly planned the murder to avenge the killing of their close associate Vicky Medukhera. In a Facebook post, Brar had claimed responsibility for plotting Moosewala’s murder.
In June last year, Sachin had also claimed responsibility for the murder of Moosewala. While speaking to a TV channel, Sachin said he killed the singer because he “financially supported and arranged for the shelter” of gangsters who killed Middukhera, a Youth Akali Dal leader and close aide of Bishnoi.
In the purported conversation with the news channel, Sachin had said Moosewala’s name had “come up” in the Middukhera case but the police did not take any action and “that is why we killed him”.
This is the second extradition by the Delhi Police Special Cell. In April, the Delhi Police along with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Mexican authorities arrested Delhi’s most wanted gangster Deepak Boxer from Mexico.
