Even as the Bharatiya Janata Party is witnessing a cold war among its Delhi candidates over tickets for the Lok Sabha elections, senior leaders have asked party president Rajnath Singh to convince Vijay Goel to agree on fighting from Chandni Chowk. Goel’s heart, however, lies in the New Delhi constituency, which the party seniors reportedly want Jagdish Mukhi to contest. Goel has threatened to resign (counting his seniority as the national party’s general secretary),if he is not given a ticket from New Delhi. The party decision has also left Mukhi sulking as he wants to contest from West Delhi. Party sources said the BJP top brass was planning to give this ticket to Parvesh Verma, son of the late Sahib Singh Verma. People and party workers could be seen congratulating Sahib Singh Verma’s son,who was celebrating the late leader’s birthday in Ghera village on Sunday,as if he had already been given the ticket.
