Sciences record the highest jump

At Deshbandhu College,cut-offs for Chemistry (H) rose 10 points from 70 last year to 80 this year. The college saw a rise of 8 points in Math,taking it to 84 this session. In most other colleges,however,the rise in cut-offs was around one per cent.

Cut-offs for Sciences touched a new high of 99 per cent at Hansraj College. The college has announced a 97-99 per cent cut-off for admission to Computer Science (H) against last year’s 95-98. At Indraprastha College for Women,cut-offs for Computer Science rose from 90-95 last year to 94-99 this year.

Among the seven colleges that offer Statistics (H),Hindu College had the highest cut-off for the course at 95-97 per cent for general category and 90-92 per cent for OBC candidates. The lowest cut-off in the subject was at Ram Lal Anand at 80 per cent.

While Hindu College raised the bar in most other courses,Math (H) cut-offs registered a dip from a maximum of 97 per cent last year to 96 this year. The highest cut-off for Math this year at DU is 96.5 per at Hansraj College.

For Chemistry (H),Hindu kept the cut-offs the highest at 95.33 per cent — an increase of 0.33 per cent from last year. Hansraj closely followed with a 95 per cent cut-off for general category students.

For Physics,the highest cut-off was 97 per cent at Hindu,a rise from 96.66 last year. At Miranda House,the cut-off for the course rose from 92 per cent last year to 95 this year.

Among Science colleges,Acharya Narendra Dev College raised its bar the highest overall. While Physics jumped from 76 to 80 this year,in Botany,it rose from 65 to 72 per cent.

In Math,cut-offs rose from 75 to 82 at the college.
