School Notes: Felicitation ceremony at Amity school,Gurgaon

Amity International School,Sector-46,Gurgaon,held a felicitation ceremony for the students of Class X and XII,who had brought laurels to the school

Amity International School,Sector-46,Gurgaon,held a felicitation ceremony for the students of Class X and XII,who had brought laurels to the school. The ceremony started with lighting of the lamp by the chairperson who was accompanied by T P Chauhan,Bajpai and principal Arti Chopra. In her welcome address,Chopra welcomed all and praised students and the teachers for their hard work. She also announced the launch of a Facebook page for alumni. Muskan Chauhan,skating champion,was also felicitated by the chairperson Dr Amita Chauhan.

Tree plantation drive in dps r k puram

In association with Inner Wheel Club members,the Sanskrit department of Delhi Public School,R K Puram organised a tree plantation drive on July 16,2013 to create social awareness about ‘The importance of trees in our lives’.Trees were planted by class VI students under the supervision of headmistress Anita Singh; the head of the Sanskrit department Dr Asha Lata Pandey; the Inner Wheel Club president Manju Kumar and the senior club members. Principal Dr D R Saini saw the students plant 150 saplings. Dr Pandey thanked the guests and Meera Goel,chairperson of the Environment club for sponsoring the saplings.

Red Roses school students visit AIIMS cancer ward

Students of Interact Club of Red Roses Public School,Saket accompanied by its coordinator Ruchi Arya visited the cancer ward at AIIMS,being run and managed by Rotary Club of New Delhi. The club raised Rs 21,000 for the cause with voluntary contributions from students,teachers,support staff and the school’s director. Three different machines that help cure different types of cancer were shown to the students. A representative of Rotary club tols students that more than 1 lakh patients get registered for treatment,which results delays. He also advised the students not to indulge in any kind of drugs,alcohol or chewing of tobacco as a preventive measure.

Students of amity school,saket visit Germany

A group of 15 students and 2 teachers from Amity International School,Saket visited Geswieschter Scholl,Gymnasium,Stuttgart,Germany to conclude a yearlong project sponsored by Bosch Stiftung Project.The project titled ‘GROWING UP IN A CHANGING WORLD’ involved comparative research taken by the students of both the schools,encompassing various aspects of social,religious,emotional, job,career and marriage. The students in Germany made their project in English whereas the students of Amity International School made theirs in German. In the month of October and November,2012,the German students visited India to complete the first half of the research and the return visit by the Indian students was to conclude the same.The final outcome has been published as a brochure which was designed jointly by both the groups.

St Mark’s,Meera Bagh,shines at cricket tournament

15-15 National Cricket Championship for U-17 category was held at Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh from 9.6.13 to 14.6.13. Mayank Rajpal (XIIC),Deepak Sharma (XA),Abhinav Nagpal (XIC),Kshitiz Attrishi (XD),Parth Arora (IXC) and Jai Prakash (IXC) of St Mark’s Sr Sec Public School,Meera Bagh,participated and represented the Delhi team in the championship. Delhi reached the finals of the championship,beating the other teams comprehensively. In the finals,Delhi defeated MP by 3 runs to clinch the championship. Mayank Rajpal (XIIC) of St Mark’s School,Meera Bagh,was declared as the best batsman of the tournament. It was a great experience for the team.

Vanmahotsav at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan school

The Eco Club of the school celebrated Vanmohsava with various activities. It was inaugurated by a ‘Tree Plantation Drive’ in school premises by the principal Dr Anju Tandon and Vice Principal,Vibha Kohli. The senior wing eco club members and the junior eco club members participated in the drive. A speech and pledge was also taken by the students and the staff in the assembly. A poster making competition and slogan writing competition was organised in the school on the topic — Make the Earth green. The ‘vanmohtsava ‘ concluded with a prize distribution ceremony in which all participants and position holders of various activities were felicitated with eco friendly products and plant saplings.

bvn school hosts swimming,badminton competition

Birla Vidya Niketan hosted its 13th Inter Public School Championship on 18th and 19th July 2013. Over 30 top schools of Delhi and NCR like. Chief Guest Rakesh Gupta,Joint Secretary IOA and Secretary General,Indian Triathlon Federation declared the meet open and appreciated the high level of competition. He gave away prizes to the winners amidst great excitement. DPS Mathura Road took home the Swimming Championship in the Girls’ category. Mt. St. Mary’s clinched the Trophy in the Boys’ category as well as the Overall Championship.

ASN International,Mayur Vihar bagged the Badminton championship. Principal M Kushwaha congratulated all the participants and the organisers of the championship.
