Rs 3,000-cr projects to be launched in Noida

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav will inaugurate infrastructure projects worth more than Rs 3,000 crore for Gautam Buddh Nagar district on Tuesday.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav will inaugurate infrastructure projects worth more than Rs 3,000 crore for Gautam Buddh Nagar district on Tuesday. Authority officials said the inauguration ceremony will be held in Lucknow,and the move is part of a plan to improve Noida and its surrounding areas and transform it into a “world class locality”.

Senior Authority officials said the Chief Minister will inaugurate eight projects worth Rs 1,877 crore under the jurisdiction of the Noida Authority; three projects worth Rs 1,200 crore in the Greater Noida region,and two projects worth Rs 260 crore in the Yamuna Expressway region.

Senior officials of the authorities said they had been instructed to begin work on the projects immediately after the inauguration. “The state administration has instructed us to commence work in a time-bound manner. Plans for several infrastructure projects have already been drawn up,and the tender process will begin at the earliest,” a senior official said.

He said the CEOs in charge of the three authorities have gone to Lucknow for the inauguration. Projects worth around Rs 15,000 crore scheduled to be completed in the next five years,are also going to be discussed with senior state administration officials in Lucknow.

Projects to be inaugurated in Noida include two underpass projects connecting Sectors 32 and 35,and Sectors 94 and 95. Two multi-level parking facilities at Sector 18 and Botanical Garden metro station,a paediatric institute in Sector 30,a school for girls in Sector 51,two electricity sub-stations in Sectors 123 and 148,and a shelter for women. The projects in Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway areas include a medical university in the Gautam Buddh University campus,an affordable housing project for 12,000 people,a 25-acre helipad at Knowledge Park and a convention centre on a 33-acre plot.
