Buoyed by an impressive ten-wicket match haul by Delhi skipper and right-arm leg-spinner Reema Malhotra and an unbeaten 102 from former India skipper Anjum Chopra,the Delhi team defeated Jammu & Kashmir by an innings an 48 runs to claim a bonus point in the two-day senior women’s zonal cricket championships at the Ferozeshah Kotla ground.

Reema picked up six wickets in the first innings as J&K,after winning the toss and deciding to bat first,were bundled out for 79 in the first innings. Reema bowled 17 overs for just 24 runs with six maidens and six wickets. In reply Delhi raked up 208 for 4,declaring immediately after Anjum Chopra reached her three-figure mark. Chopra’s hundred came in 229 minutes and 173 balls with eleven boundaries while Deepti Dhiyani chipped in with 63. J&K women failed for the second time in two days with the spin combination of Reema and off-spinner Lalita Sharma picking four wickets each while left-arm spinner Shashi Malik also claiming her share of the pie.
