Railways bag two gold

On the second last day of the ongoing Federation Cup,Indian Railways came out on top bagging an over-all three medals in the women’s artistic gymnastics.

On the second last day of the ongoing Federation Cup,Indian Railways came out on top bagging an over-all three medals in the women’s artistic gymnastics. Railways won two gold medals and one silver at the meet on Wednesday.

The railways team comprising of M Sridevi,Rakhi Debnath,Rupali Haldhar,Tumpa Debnath and Sukhbir Kaur topped the charts with121.8 points.

The silver went to Punjab — Gulwinder Kaur,Naginder Kaur,Monika,Sarbjeet and Rohika — tallied 114.2 points. While Maharashtra,including Vandita Rawat,Gayatri,Dilip Sohani,Tejaswini,Akshada Wavekar and Ashwani Khurade managed to bag the bronze although there score tally was way behind the top two teams with 96.0 points.

Indian Railways also shone in individual events as Tumpa Debnath won the gold in the all-round individual championship with 41.95 points.

In a day of successes for Railways Tumpa’s teammate Rupali Haldhar also won the silver medal with 40.45 points while Vandeeta Raval of Maharashtra secured the bronze.
