At least 40 persons were detained after a clash broke out between two groups at Jantar Mantar Sunday over the issue of beating up of four Dalit youths in Gujarat. The incident took place when sloganeering between the activists of Youth for Buddhist India and a section of Singh Sena escalated.

“We were protesting quietly against Dalit atrocity in the country. Members of the Singh Sena attacked us and also threw chairs at us,” said a Youth for Buddhist India activist, adding that they would lodge a complaint. Sena members, however, said the ruckus started when Youth for Buddhist India members abused them for raising slogans.
