Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Wednesday directed the Delhi Metro to prepare a detailed project report within three months for construction of a mono rail network in East Delhi. Dikshit said her government plans to float a global tender for the 11-km-long network after the DMRC submits a final project report. The DMRC will look after construction and commissioning of the network. We will call international tender for the project after finalisation of DPR, Diksihit said after a high-level meeting on the project.
In the first phase,the mono rail network will link Shastri Park with Laxmi Nagar via Trilokpuri and the entire stretch will have a total of 12 stations.
Dikshit said government was ready to consider extension of approved mono rail network to Delhi University,Kashmere Gate and Chandni Chowk.
